Myrtle Beach Real Estate 55 plus Using a Realtor 11/19/2007 - By By 843Realtor.com
It has often been a dream for many people to retire at the Beach.
Retire to the Beach
It has often been a dream for many people to retire at the Beach. Myrtle Beach South Carolina is no exception. The Myrtle Beach area has 55+ communities for people who have different incomes. The resale market starts by offering 55+ mobile home developments from about $30,000. The resale single family 55+ homes start around $150,000. New Construction 55+ starts around $200,000 and prices can climb to $400,000 for gated Active Adult Communities. These retirement developments are about 4 to 10 miles to the Beach.
Many prospective buyers try endlessly to get information about 55+ community options. Many Prospective buyers try to deal directly with the builder, but this may not be their best option. Prospective Buyers must remember that in South Carolina the Realtors in the sales office on the builder’s site are legally representing the builder’s best interest. The onsite Realtor’s job is to get the highest price and best terms for the BUILDER. It may be in the best interest of the Prospective Buyer to use an independent Realtor.
MANY independent Realtors will allow a Prospective buyer to become a “Client” without any out of pocket cost to the Buyer. Prospective Buyers can get honest information about ALL the developments within the Realtors area. The buyer can rest easier knowing their Realtor is representing their best interest.
Always remember when you are talking with a Realtor in South Carolina that if you are not a Client of that Realtor then you should assume the Seller most likely is. Never give away any negotiating information to any Realtor until you are that Realtors client.
